It’s late and it’s been a long day but I wanted to share the news with all of my readers that I announced today at the Emetrics Summit in San Francisco: I’ve left Visual Sciences and am building a company around Web Analytics Demystified.

You can read the press release here and if you come to my web site you’ll notice some new additions to the site:

Congrats on the move. Good Luck and all the best with the new company!

Does this imply that Judah is also a member of said company? Congrats again if affirmative!

On a more personal and important note Eric, does this mean that as The Boss, you’ll be setting a, far more appropriate, long hair friendly workplace policy?

    Cheers!

    - Steve
PS Nice photo on Robbin’s blog. Sincerely!

Steve: Thanks for the feedback! Nope, Judah is not an employee or member of the company (at least not yet ;-) Judah Phillips is a really bright guy and someone I consider a friend. I wanted him to blog under the Web Analytics Demystified brand, and he agreed, but he’s very much independent of my new organization.

In terms of workplace policy, I’ve worked for some great CEOs and have learned a lot from them. Hopefully, as Web Analytics Demystified grows, I will bring many of the good things I’ve learned along the way to my own team.

The first thing I’ve learned is this: When Robbin comes around with a camera, walk away. ;-)

    Eric,
Congratulations on this exciting move! It’s wonderful to see people like you move confidently in this direction.
It points to the importance of web analytics and the gross need that businesses have to focus their efforts on a susinct process to better understand what’s happening in the online space.
I look forward to seeing the growth of your company.
    Dana

I’ve often felt that the best defence against a Camera is another Camera. Or to badly misquote The Matrix “Be The Camera”. The other defence, you could successfully argue I use, is to “Be on the other side of the planet”. ;-)

    Re The Survey?
Thanks hugely for making your slides available so promptly for those of us unable to be at Emetrics! Much appreciated.
The conclusion you came to, in the slides, is that Process was & is king. Fair ‘Nuff, no disagreement.

Keeping in mind I didn’t hear the presentation. :-)
Do you feel that Good WA was *because* of Good Process or more that Good Process will in turn lead to Good WA?

In that, those with good process have the discipline and ability to follow through compared with those that have “poor” processes?
A Good Positive Culture within the organisation leading to positive results, if you ken.

    Thoughts?
    Or have I just pre-empted a followup posting? :-)

Eric, Dana, Steve: Thanks very much. I’m hugely excited about the opportunity and adventure I have ahead of me (and even more excited that my phone is ringing already ;-)

Regarding the survey: Keep watching my blog and web site. I will have a new white paper out in the next few weeks that begins to drill more deeply into the research. The data is great and I’m excited to share it.

    Thanks to all!
